Pointe Common is a 65-unit affordable, family-oriented community developed on City-owned land in Fullerton. Meta Housing was selected through a competitive Request for Proposals process and was awarded XYZ city financing. The development transforms a uniquely shaped infill site adjacent to an active railroad corridor into a vibrant neighborhood designed to support families and foster community.
The site’s proximity to the railroad heavily influenced the project’s design. Building placement, landscaped courtyards, and thoughtfully organized outdoor spaces create separation from the tracks while establishing a comfortable, pedestrian-oriented environment for residents. The result is a welcoming community that turns a constrained site into an asset.
Designed with families at its core, Pointe Common offers amenities that encourage learning, recreation, and connection.
A vibrant mural along the rail corridor, created by Rubén Sánchez, serves as both a visual landmark and an artistic buffer, celebrating the site’s character while enhancing the pedestrian experience.
Pointe Common demonstrates how thoughtful design, strong public partnerships, and a family-centered approach can transform underutilized public land into high-quality affordable housing that enriches the surrounding community.
