Located at the nexus of arts and entertainment in Glendale, ACE/121 provides seventy-two units of affordable housing with a preference for artists.
Sited on the historic YMCA campus, this project provides 72 units that support both the arts and low-income families. The site’s amenities include two “messy labs” to produce art, a lobby that serves as an informal gallery, community gardens, tot-lot playground, computer media lab, ADA-accessible woodshop, and a formal exhibition space.
This project is a key feature of Glendale’s long-term vision for arts and entertainment.
Created through a unique public-private partnership amongst the City of Glendale, YMCA, and Meta Housing, ACE/121 stands out as an important piece of Glendale’s Arts & Culture and Planning Commissions’ vision for a defined Downtown Art & Entertainment District, which also includes the neighboring Alex Theatre, Central Library, Museum of Neon Art, and Antaeus Theatre Company.
The ACE/121 Gallery showcases art and live performances.
